Why Red and Violet?
Dr. MacKenzie has an extensive background in acupuncture, chiropractic
and an ongoing interest in all natural healing modalities. Consequently
he has has long worked with the seven main body energy centers
known as chakras.
These are aligned along the spine from the base or root chakra
up to the crown chakra at the top of the head. Each chakra is
also traditionally associated with a color - the seven colors
of the rainbow starting with red for the base chakra and violet
for the crown chakra.
In addition, when Dr. MacKenzie conducts his seminars, one
of the tools he uses is a 'map' of the emotional world based
on these chakra energy centers. Different human emotions tend
to be based in different chakras. For example, kindness and
compassion emanate from the heart chakra.
Because of this, we felt that the colors of the rainbow were
actually quite representative of what MIC is all about. However,
since using all seven colors would be a major web design "no-no",
we were forced to choose.
We selected the red and the violet to represent each edge of
the rainbow and each end of the chakra spectrum. And the beige?
Well, to be honest, we simply needed a neutral color to balance
things out and there's just not much else that goes with red
and violet!
