This was different, like nothing else I had
come across...
Simon Hathaway, BSc (Hons), Dip, QSS. describes his results
from SALT - one of the most profound experiences of his life.
When I was first introduced to Mick and Self Actualisation
Learning Technology (SALT), life had become rather difficult
and I was definitely not having much fun. I had been diagnosed
with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (CFS) about a year before, whilst
serving with the military in Bosnia, and my health was in a
disastrous state. Previous to this diagnosis, I had had incredible
energy and zest for life; I had been lucky enough to do lots
of amazing things and get paid for doing them, but this had
all suddenly stopped and I was really fed up with the whole
situation. Spending much of my time sleeping and resting was
anathema to me; it was far from what I wanted to be doing, but
there seemed to be little I could do about to.
I invested much time, money and whatever effort I could muster
into getting better, but all was to very little avail. I had
also worked with various systems from basic health care and
nutrition to more esoteric arts and systems. Anything I came
across I tried; I was desperate. My investigations included
yoga, martial arts, NLP, healers, chiropractic, osteopathy,
spiritual masters, acupuncture, ayurveda, shamanism, cognitive
behavioural therapy, herbal remedies, vitamins, crystals, magnets,
pacing, visualisation, meditation, EFT, reflexology, colonics,
dowsing, massage, homeopathy, radionics and kinesiology - to
name just a few!
I wasn’t really expecting SALT to have much effect upon
my health, but wondered if it could help me to deal with my
situation and thereby improve my quality of life. I was about
to be in for a shock! During my first weekend, I was not very
aware of the process I was undergoing, I just know that it had
an undeniably positive impact on my health and that it had a
very profound effect upon the way I saw the world afterwards.
This was different, like nothing else I had come across before.
It was uncomfortable at times, but incredibly effective. It
was so much more than I could ever have expected, or can even
put into words.
After the weekend, the whole world was different, or that is
the way it seemed. Although the recovery to my health has been
slow, I am in a much better position now and I am incredibly
happy. I am also coaching others in this amazing learning method,
which should, in my view, be available to everyone that wants
it, or is curious in learning more about it. I cannot even begin
to imagine the results that could be achieved in the world if
enough people can be exposed to SALT - it seems anything
could be possible. Humanity is missing out if the most is not
made from this discovery. With it, we can change the rules that
we think are fixed in our reality, by returning to a state of
open curiosity, wonder and amazement; a state in which so many
groundbreaking leaps in history have been made by mankind.
As I sat down to write this article, I am amazed (although
not totally surprised!) that my phone rings, with someone asking
me how they can learn more about the coaching method. The synchronicities
that now happen more regularly (or am I just more aware of them?)
in my life are amazing. I love the impact that a weekend, spent
talking about seemingly meaningless issues, has had on my life.
I have been charmed to lead a very full and varied life, having
done some amazing things for work and travelled widely, but
I can safely say that the experience of sitting in a room, going
through the process of this learning method, has been one of
the most profound experiences that I have ever had. I wholeheartedly
recommend anyone and everyone to explore what it has to offer
to their world.
After studying physics at university, Simon followed a career
in the military and is currently laying the ground for his next
phase with renewed energy and enthusism. He is an accomplished
photographer and now coaches others using the SALT method.
