So Happy to Be So Sad

What if you sat through your entire life and missed it?

What if you didn't ever notice what was really going on? So many of us do just this without realizing that life is absolutely within our own grasp. Life is to be lived in amongst ALL of its experiences and not just the selective few ... the ones we deem to be 'good'.

Take a quick break -- less than 4 minutes!! -- and listen to what Dr. Mick MacKenzie has to say about 'so happy to be so sad'. (Click on the big 'play video' button in the black box.)

More thoughts on Nic's films...

That short film was created by my friend Nic Askew, a self-taught British film-maker. His unique films are designed to stimulate an understanding of life and what it means to be truly alive. All are produced in one take, no rehearsal, no scripting - just surprising conversations with people that Nic (and thousands of his regular viewers) find interesting and thought provoking.

I highly recommend you take some time to look through Nic's archives at Monday9am.tv and explore some of his other short films. What you'll find there are many people that I would definitely call "Self-Actualized". And although that's hard to describe in words, we all instinctively know it when we see it.

These folks have an incredible zest and enthusiasm for life and an unshakable sense of who they are. They display an immense honesty and openness coupled with a lightness of being, humility and compassion. They are people that have tremendous courage and the self-confidence to follow their own path. They have managed to find their own way to that amazing state of Self-Actualization, and I believe that is the main reason we find them so interesting and so captivating.

But what about everybody else? What about the vast majority of people leading "ordinary" lives? The ones who may feel frustrated or trapped by life's current circumstances? The ones that know deep down they are capable of such a life of magnificence, but have somehow lost their sense of enthusiasm and direction. What about them?

Well, these are the folks I warmly invite to come spend a weekend with me in my Self-Actualization seminar. My seminar is designed to take you to the actual experience of Self-Actualization - not a concept of it or just talking about it - but a deep experience of your own unique true Self. This re-ignites life's passion and becomes a "homing beacon" to help you find your own path to magnificence and the courage to stay the course.

But I caution you... my weekend is not for the faint-hearted. Once you get a taste of your own true self - who you really are - it's quite intoxicating! The life you thought was "out-of-reach" starts rushing towards you faster than you ever believed possible. And with the 'learned character' set aside, you may likely discover that you're not at all who you thought you were!!

The main requirements for participants are a burning desire for a magnificent life, courage, intense curiosity, honesty and openness. If this interests you, I invite you to read more about my Self Actualization Seminar.
